Programme highlight

The recent major earthquake in Yushu, China(14 April 2010) and the previous one in Wenchuan China(may 2008) and Haiti (22 Feb 2010), in different parts of the world have reminded us that we, as engineers and safety professionals, must be in constant alert of what can go wrong and plan for the appropriate actions to manage the risks of disastrous events, whether man-made or natural.

It is mainly to provide a platform for engineers, safety professionals and managers from construction industries to share their views and experience in the preparedness, response and recovery of disastrous events.
