Technical Visit to Taiwan

(Jointly organised by Hong Kong Nuclear Society(HKNS), Hong Kong Associations of Risk Management & Safety (HKARMS), Nuclear (NE) & Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture & Chemical (MMNC) Divisions of HKIE)



Date, assembly time and place


30 September 2012 (Sunday) to 3 October 2012 (Wednesday); Assemble at HK International Airport (details to be advised) on 30 September 2012.


Programme Highlights


The purpose of the visit is to give members an insight on the latest development and status of nuclear power plants in Taiwan, solar research development as well as an overview of the high speed rail in Taiwan. The delegation would visit the No. 2 & No. 3 Nuclear Power Plants of Taipower and the itinerary would also include planned visit to a solar power research facility at Luchu and Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) depot at Zuoying near Kaohsiung. Overnight accommodation will be arranged at Taipei and Kaohsiung.  The participants will return to Hong Kong on 3 October 2012.


The 3-day technical visit will qualify for 18 CPD hours for each participant.


Registration and enquires


The tentative cost of the visit is HKD 4200 per HKIE NE/MMNC divisional, HKNS and HKARMS  member (HKD 5,200.00 for non-member), which includes 3-night accommodation at double room occupancy, local transportation and meals. The fee does not include the costs of entry permit and insurance (except standard travel insurance supplied by the travel agent). The number of participants is limited and applicants will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Applicants should apply for their own valid travel documents for entering into Taiwan.

Successful applicants will be notified by email or fax for payment of the fee incurred and to provide their personal data for entry into the restricted area of the nuclear power plants.
