CHKSTT YOUNG TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGIST’S AWARD
ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP TO SINGAPORE FOR THE NO-DIG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION IN NOVEMBER 2010
Introduction
The China Hong Kong Society for Trenchless Technology (CHKSTT) is a not-for-profit organisation whose objectives are to promote the use of trenchless technology for the benefit of the public and the environment. It is one of a family of over twenty national societies which are affiliated to the International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT) and thus has excellent links with the much wider international community of trenchless practitioners and researchers.
In order to further promote the use and development of trenchless technology in Hong Kong, the CHKSTT has decided to make an annual award to a young engineer or scientist in order that he or she might broaden their knowledge and horizons of the use of trenchless methods by attending the No Dig International Conference and Exhibition in Singapore in November 2010 – click on the logo below for further details.
The award
The award will be an all expenses paid visit to No Dig 2010 Conference and Exhibition in Singapore in November 2010. The award will cover the cost of flights, hotel, conference and conference dinner fees. A social and networking programme, providing an opportunity to meet leading international proponents of various trenchless technology services and products, will be arranged for the award winner and a Certificate will also be presented to the winner.
Eligibility
Applicants must be under 35 years old on 31st December 2010 and have been employed in some area of work related to trenchless technology – for example, utility investigation, trenchless installation of conduits or cables, trenchless rehabilitation of pipes, inspection and/or condition assessment of buried conduits.
The competition
In order to apply for this award, applicants are required to write a 1000 word essay outlining:-
(a) what their current involvement in trenchless technology is;
(b) what their achievements in trenchless technology have been;
(c) how this visit will be of benefit to the applicant, their company and Hong Kong;
Submission of Applications
Applications must be submitted by e-mail to info@chkstt.org on or before 5pm on 3 September 2010. Please supply your full contact details with the application.
The winner of the award will be notified by September 17 and the winner’s Certificate will be presented during the No Dig 2010 International Conference in Singapore in November.
